NOTE1: The meaning of IRF
In Japanese FURUI means old. The Group intended to use a word meaning "new" for the name of the Group because they tried to find new expression in photography.
FURUI is a word of three HIRAGANA in Japanese, if written in easy-to-understand expression, that is, FU-RU-I. If FU-RU-I is reversed in HIRAGANA writing, it becomes I-RU-FU. Although Japanese do not have a word I-RU-FU, they wanted to use their "original" word. Further, they made the word I-RU-FU more european word, that means a deletion of vowels after consonants, then it had become IRF. They intended "new" by using IRF as their Group's name.
NOTE2: Fukuoka-city is the fourth biggest city in Japan located in the northern part of Kyushu which is the southern island of the four big islands of Japan.
